The recommendations presented by "Digifort Design Tool" are results of complex mathematical calculations based on performance testing (Benchmark) of different computers. The tool will include a large safety margin in the calculation of server and client processors, so that the final use of the processor lies between 40% and 60%, and will also include a margin of 20% in the calculation of required storage per server. During the development of "Digifort Design Tool" and performance tests, we found that the memory speed and configuration (Single / Dual / Triple) influences the process of decoding video and system management.Using Dual or Triple channel configuration will increase system performance, allowing a greater number of cameras or frames per second that the system supports.In the results presented by "Digifort Design Tool" the recommendation will include the memory speed, size and configuration (Single / Dual / Triple) of memories and this item should be strictly followed because the recommendations presented are results of performance testing (benchmark) on computers using the recommended memory configuration. If the system recommends a setting of memory and this recommendation is not followed, the advised computer might not be enough to fulfill your project requirements.
The storage may have a negative impact on the solution, if the chosen storage does not have the appropriate write performance for the solution.Verion 6.5 of Digifort has been improved to use less storage resources (IOPS), enabling use of low-performance storage arrays, however, Digifort recommends ONLY the use of: DAS and SAN DAS - Direct-attached storage This is a type of storage connected directly to the server. This typs of storage provides the best performance for the solutionSAN - Storage Area Network This ia a type of network-level storage that provides block access. To use this type of storage, it is necessary to use Fibre Channel in order to increase the performance of the solution. WARNING! Digifort DOES NOT recommend the use of NAS (Network Attached Storage). The use of NAS with Digifort solution may compromise the platform performance and stability, especially in high-demand installations.
Bitrate calculation is based on real data, collected from cameras found in the market. Be aware that bitrate values may vary significantly among vendors even using the same params like scene, resolution, FPS, compression and quality. Being bitrate the most important value of this form, you should verify this information with your hardware vendor. By using unreal bitrate values, the resulting calculation may be severely compromised.
